DIRECT ADVOCACY

Direct Advocacy

At Advocacy Queen®, Direct Advocacy is about showing up with strength, clarity, and conviction when communities need a voice. This work is not limited to one issue or one population. It is grounded in our core beliefs of equality, equal access, dignity, and the importance of second chances. When barriers arise, we stand in the gap to ensure that vulnerable, marginalized, and silenced groups are heard and respected.

Direct Advocacy means being present in the moments that matter: testifying, writing letters, speaking at hearings, and lending support in spaces where individuals and communities often feel powerless. We operate from a values-based approach that transcends political lines, working across the aisle and across communities to build bridges, foster accountability, and promote solutions that restore dignity and opportunity.

Examples of Previous Advocacy Engagement

  • Providing presence and support to students and families in the aftermath of high school shootings.

  • Participating in conversations and events on gun violence prevention.

  • Engaging in legislative processes around reparative action, housing concerns, health policy, and issues affecting the unhoused.

  • Advocating for survivors of domestic violence.

  • Offering testimony for individuals seeking resentencing and second chances.

  • Supporting students and families navigating Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), especially those with children on the spectrum.

  • Advocating for individuals and families facing eviction and housing instability.

These examples reflect the breadth of Advocacy Queen’s impact but are not the limit. Wherever dignity, fairness, and access are at stake, Direct Advocacy steps in to help ensure voices are lifted, communities are supported, and solutions are pursued with integrity.
