Since launching in October 2023, Advocacy Queen® has focused on one goal: helping people become better equipped to advocate for themselves.

Our work is rooted in a simple belief: people should not have to remain dependent on an advocate, case manager, or service provider to navigate the systems that affect their lives. They deserve practical tools, knowledge, confidence, and strategies they can continue using for themselves, their families, and their communities.

In less than three years, and with limited institutional funding, Advocacy Queen has demonstrated what targeted investment in self-advocacy can accomplish.

Funding also supported participant incentives that helped reduce barriers to attendance and encourage meaningful participation.

This demonstrated how a relatively modest investment can directly equip large numbers of community members with skills they can continue using long after a workshop ends.

Advocacy Excellence Training® strengthens the advocacy capacity of service providers, case managers, housing professionals, and other frontline professionals.

Advocacy Queen has delivered two Advocacy Excellence training engagements in Wisconsin, reaching a combined 208 service providers, including one large professional workshop serving approximately 200 participants.

By strengthening both community members and the professionals who serve them, Advocacy Queen works from both sides of the advocacy relationship.

A $10,000 United Way technical assistance investment helped Advocacy Queen strengthen the organizational infrastructure necessary to deliver and expand this work.

Funding supported technology, equipment, digital systems, website development, software, and other operational tools.

The investment did more than purchase equipment. It helped build the infrastructure Advocacy Queen needs to operate, deliver programming, communicate with communities, and expand its reach.

Our impact is not measured only by how many people enter a classroom. The goal is what participants leave with.

A person who learns how to document an issue can use that skill again.

A parent who learns how to prepare for a difficult meeting can use that strategy while advocating for their child.

Someone navigating housing, benefits, education, courts, healthcare, or government systems can approach the next challenge with greater preparation and confidence.

A service provider who strengthens their advocacy approach can apply those skills across future client interactions.

That is how advocacy education creates a ripple effect.

People are navigating increasingly complicated systems while many families are concerned about the stability of public benefits, government resources, housing, healthcare, education, and other essential supports.

Knowing where to go for assistance matters. Knowing how to advocate when the system does not work as expected matters too.

Advocacy Queen exists to help close that gap.

We are building a model of human services that does not simply solve a problem for someone. It equips people with tools they can carry forward.

The next chapter is expanding access so more people can gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence to become their own best advocate.
